HISTORY & GOALS

SBRO Fund Management, together with Boutique Collective Investments (Pty) Ltd ("BCI") acting as a leading Collective Investments Scheme provider, formed the SBRO BCI Defensive Fund of Funds in April 2007 and the SBRO BCI Balanced Fund of Funds in February 2009.  During 2016 the SBRO BCI Managed Fund of Funds was established. The main objective in expanding our investment product range was to provide our clients with a wider range of investment strategies and diversification models.  SBRO Fund Managers spread across the three portfolios and continues to provide clients, individuals and institutions, with a unique approach to investment management and portfolio management.

The main purpose was, and still is, to provide our investment clients with specialized products, a diversified investment strategy and active investments management service.

We have since also launched a more conservative SBRO Income Fund with the objective to achieve a high level of sustainable income and stability of capital invested.  In order to achieve the objective, the portfolio's maximum exposure to equity is 10% of its net asset value.

An active portfolio management focuses on outperforming the market and also to outperform inflation with a set amount of basis points when compared to a specific benchmark. We do not merely want to mimic the investment holdings of a particular index.
An active management style makes sense in volatile markets because these conditions create better opportunities for an active manager to identify mis priced stocks that can outperform an index or inflation.

Besides the day to day discussions and structuring of clients' investment portfolio's we have a diverse Investment Committee which convene each quarter of the year. This is where we reconsider our house view on the markets and determine whether our underlying investment policies are still appropriate in the specific economic and political climate. The committee members have a diverse set of perspectives and have a willingness to be collaborative and are open to new and fresh ideas. Our Mission is to act in the best interest of our clients with a high level of knowledge and to satisfy their financial needs and we are well aware that excellence in service delivery and courteous treatment of people will make the customer a walking advertisement of our brand.
